The AH bot keeps saying "alert DuMaurier is unknown."
I spoke to Dumauier he says he is an old starcraft player and he isn't hacking.
Does unknown always mean someone is hacking? What's causing the AH and the AH bot to keep flagging him?

General Discussion / Happy Ramadan
« on: May 17, 2018, 11:22:03 AM »
Ramadan Kareem war2ru,

Brief explanation of Ramadan,

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Muslim lunar calendar. Healthy adult Muslims fast in Ramadan from dawn until dusk. This includes abstaining from drinking, eating, immoral acts and anger. Other acts of worship such as prayer, reading the Quran and charity are also encouraged during Ramadan.

Muslims also believe that the Quran was revealed in Ramadan.

During the holy month, Muslims wake up early to eat a pre-dawn meal called suhoor, and break their fast with a meal referred to as iftar.

It is common for mosques to host large iftars, especially for the poor and needy. Nightly prayers called Tarawih are also held in mosques after iftar.

Different cultures have different traditions during Ramadan, whether it is a special food they must cook, or eating iftar with the extended family.

When is Ramadan?
Ramadan begins today May 17, 2018.
Since Ramadan is part of a lunar calendar, its date annually changes on the Gregorian calendar. Muslims tend to wait for the new month's moon to appear before they announce the first day of Ramadan. However, they can still estimate the day beforehand.

Why do Muslims fast during Ramadan?

Fasting during Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam. There are also verses in the Quran that prescribes fasting for all Muslims who are mature and healthy enough to fast for the full day.  Muslims fast as an act of worship and for a chance to get closer to God. And as a way to become more compassionate to those in need.

Fasting is also seen as a way to learn patience and break bad habits.

When does Ramadan end?

Based on the astronomical charts, Ramadan ends on the evening of June 14.

The first day of the next month, Shawwal, is expected to be on June 15, once again subject to confirmation after an official sighting of the new moon.

The first day of the next Islamic month Shawwal is also the date of Eid al-Fitr, the festival of breaking the fast.

General Discussion / Is capitalism good or bad?
« on: May 06, 2018, 11:42:03 AM »
Capitalism shows that people that are more skilled get more recognition for it, for example, a doctor makes more than a cashier. It's the same as saying that when you were in school, you did the entire project and worked hard on it, and the person next to you didn't and they got the same score. You should get a higher score because you did better, in communism this doesn't work. Communism doesn't work because one, if you don't own it, why should you maintain it? And socialism doesn't work because it takes money people earned and gives it to the poor that did nothing to earn it.
Capitalism is fair. Would it be fair that everyone earns the same amount of money, but one works harder? No, right? Even if a country would be ruled by communism, there still will be poor and rich. It will always be this way. Therefore it can be said that capitalism is better than communism

All the arguments against capitalism are either targeted at crony capitalism, facilitated by big government, or against the unchangeable nature of the world and humanity. The rest are just completely nonsensical. People will complain about rich people controlling the government. This is true: men with big pockets will try to take advantage of government for their own ends. However, this can only happen when government is big enough. A small government which only serves to enforce the law and defend national security is less capable of being corrupted. However, powerful government organs, like the IRS and the Fed (un-democratic and unelected) open the door for cronyism, as do powerful elected officials with lots of power. Complaining about inequality is to complain about human nature itself. There will always be inequality as long as two people are left on the planet.

General Discussion / Is communism good or bad?
« on: April 25, 2018, 12:55:19 AM »
Communism is a utopian philosophy, so in theory it is really quite good.  The ultimate goal of communism is to have a society where all resources are shared equally based on need, property is all owned collectively, there is no state, and work is done based on personal desire rather than economic need.  To read Marx and Engels it is difficult to imagine a person that would not want to live in the world they describe as the end Communist state.

It seems that in reality the problem with Communism is that in order to get to the utopic end we must first pass through a time where the state has incredible authority and control (in theory this is necessary in order to set the foundation for the dissolution of private property and the state itself).  So far, no state has actually acheived Marx's described communism because no government has been able or willing to give up that control and power that is required during the interloping period; subsequently, rather than having ever seen a communist society we have only witnessed socialist authoritarian regimes that pass themselves off as communist, which in practice seems to have been an undesirable state of affairs for many.

Server.War2.ru / Warcraft 2 Ru's Policy on harassment
« on: March 07, 2018, 06:16:36 PM »
Harassment

In general, social behavior on the server is dealt with at the user-level.  When encountering unwanted messages from others, a user may choose to simply not listen, use the /squelch command, use the /dnd command, or ban the offending user from their games as necessary.

However, occasionally harassment may arise, at which point administrators will step in.  Harassment will be considered to have taken place when a user makes a routine of bothering another user across multiple gaming sessions, and does in a persistent manner such that usual responses, such as typing /squelch once time each log-in session, fail to adequately handle the issue.

When a user is committing harassment, they will be warned by administrators, and failure to correct their behavior will lead to a ban.
